If I said ‘you can have two treats’, then you had two treats you’d be happy. Two treats is a good amount of treats.
What if instead I said ‘you can have one treat’ and after you’d enjoyed the treat I then said ‘you can actually have another treat’. Would that be better? Is there a link between expectation and enjoyment? I think there probably is between expectation and disappointment. ‘Actually sorry, we just ran out of treats.’ It’s the end of the year, most of us are entering a period of high treat expectations. I wonder if you’ll get more, less or exactly as much as you expect?

… surprise second pudding is the bessst. Perhaps, living in the moment releases us from pudding-based (and other) disappointments.
